Email from Tarrant County Republican Party TCU is hiding DEI from the Trump Administration Contribute Today to Elect Republicans TCU Caught Hiding DEI from the Trump Administration After TCU's Board of Trustees meeting this week, the news reported that the university has ended its DEI Department in addition to taking down the LGBTQ pages that we reported on last week. On its face, this seems like a win. TCU may appear to have reversed course. In reality, their top officials have admitted they're full steam ahead and are merely hiding DEI from the Trump administration to avoid the consequences. We have the receipts. The liberal rag Fort Worth Star-Telegram is reporting that TCU has ended diversity and inclusion and LGBT ideology, trying to frame the school as caving to conservatives (TCGOP received credit for this). The purpose of this is to convince you - and the Trump Administration - that the school has corrected course and will not require funding revocation from the federal government. TCU is currently slated to receive around $40 million from the federal government in 2025. But in the administration's own words - especially Chief "Inclusion" Officer Jonathan Benjamin-Alvarado - the DEI program is not being shut down, but instead being rolled into the Center for Connection Culture so that "their activities can continue and they can be protected." It should be noted that Alvarado gave a faculty-only presentation after Trump's election stating that DEI must become part of TCU's DNA. According to Alvarado, this was not an administrative decision, but rather a proactive measure from the DEI Department to preserve themselves from federal scrutiny. This makes sense given that, per the Star-Telegram, no DEI faculty were fired when the department was "shut down." Apart from Alvarado's own words, TCU's website directly confirms this to be the case. You can find a TCU org chart on their website HERE, which shows the names and positions of the officers within their DEI department (the chart was posted late last year). Every person from the DEI Department is now listed as an employee for the "Center for Connection Culture," including Alvarado (Chief Inclusion Officer), Aisha Torrey-Sawyer (Diversity and Inclusion Director), Vincent Perez (Diversity and Inclusion Assistant Director), and Brenda Fisher (Diversity and Inclusion Executive Assistant). Every one of them is now listed with the exact same position within the Connection Culture Center, found HERE. TCU General Counsel Lee Tyner also gave a lengthy presentation recently on Trump's executive orders and the "risk" they pose to the school. He says that the orders are "scary" and will create a chilling effect on the university's activities. Tyner claims that after Trump's inauguration, the administration got together to determine the "risk" to TCU, specifically to determine "how do we achieve our goals if we can't use race?" Tyner brings up a direct threat to the school's funding. He notes that in the coming weeks. every federal agency is required to give the Trump administration a list of nine entities to investigate for practicing DEI and affirmative action (interesting that the DEI department was re-named right now). He says that for the DoE to select a university, the university must have an endowment larger than $1 billion. TCU is one of only 130 schools in the nation that meet this criterion. If TCU has in earnest removed their DEI and LGBT programs, and corrected course, we would be very happy and would praise them for it. But like a child caught in a lie, they've chosen to double down and try to hide their wrongdoing. The Trump Administration, and in particular the DoE, must launch an investigation into TCU (as they've done for UNT and Rice University) to root out DEI and affirmative action. Mansfield Mayor Under Fire As the local elections loom ever closer, Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans has come under scrutiny, and it's not looking good for him. In recent weeks, two Texas Ethics Commission complaints have been filed against Mayor Evans. After the first complaint, he amended the last 5 years of his campaign finance reports to address errors made in reporting. One complaint alleges that Evans improperly loaned himself money from a church bank account. Within Evans' finance reports, he lists two donations which appear to be from a corporation and a church, both of which are impermissible. In one recently amended report, Evans listed a $500 contribution from Triple C Builders. In a later report, Evans listed a $100 donation from "Freedom House Community Worship Center." The investigation against Michael Evans appears to be ongoing. Michael Evans has a scholarship fund (named after himself). Sponsors include prominent businesses like GEICO, Texas Health Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Bloomfield Homes, and more. According to the Foundation's 2023 Form 990, they ended the year with over $230,000 in their bank account. For 2023, $6,000 was spent on scholarships. This pattern holds for previous years. In fact, some Form 990s for Evans' foundation show a total of $0 given in scholarships for the year! This week, Evans' opponent, Julie Short (endorsed by TCGOP), came under fire for fostering a disgusting environment surrounding this race. One of his supporters, a man named Julius Alexander Wilson, left Julie a profanity-laced voicemail and said he would "light her on fire." Disgusting behavior against Ms. Short has only accelerated. Comments on Reddit include nasty statements from Michael Evans' supporters including: "This is Mansfield, not Womansfield!" "Go home and make us some cookies." "Send her woman a** back to the kitchen." As the election continues, this behavior is only accelerating - behavior that should not be tolerated, especially by a pastor like Michael Evans. He must denounce these supporters and apologize to Julie Short and the Mansfield residents she represents. Early voting starts later this month, and election day is May 3rd. It is crucial that we elect Julie Short and all the endorsed candidates in Mansfield and save the city from leftist, and apparently corrupt, radicalism. Share The Roundup with Friends!
