PJI Recognized Among California’s Top 100 Verdicts of 2024

We’re proud to announce that PJI has been recognized for obtaining one of the Top 100 Verdicts in California for 2024, ranking #60 for a $7.8 million jury verdict in Williams v. BART. This landmark case involved religious discrimination against employees, and wrongful termination for their faith. PJI stood firm to defend the rights of workers to live out their beliefs without fear. This recognition is a testament to PJI’s unwavering commitment to justice.

PJI Settles COVID Vaccine Mandate Case For 15 Public School Employees

When 15 dedicated public school employees in Oregon stood firm in their Christian faith and declined the COVID-19 vaccine, their school district responded by placing them on indefinite unpaid leave—stripping them of income, benefits, and dignity. Among them were expectant parents, cafeteria workers, and veteran teachers, all forced to choose between their convictions and their livelihoods. But Pacific Justice Institute stepped in. After a long legal battle, we’ve successfully negotiated a settlement—restoring justice and sending a clear message: religious freedom cannot be sidelined. This victory is a powerful reminder that when faith is under fire, PJI stands ready to defend.


A Legislative Win for Religious Freedom and Vulnerable Children

In a major win for religious freedom and vulnerable children, Pacific Justice Institute – Center for Public Policy successfully helped lead the charge in Kansas to override Governor Laura Kelly’s veto of House Bill 2311. This commonsense legislation, known as the Adoption Conscience Act, ensures that faith-based families and agencies are not disqualified from fostering children simply because they hold biblical views on gender and sexuality. PJI sounded the alarm, rallied support, and urged lawmakers to take a stand—and they did. With a decisive vote in both chambers, Kansas lawmakers sent a powerful message: loving families guided by faith should never be sidelined by political agendas. This is yet another victory in PJI’s ongoing fight to protect people of faith from being excluded, silenced, or disqualified.
