Combating The Fentanyl Crisis
Last year, Customs and Border Patrol seized enough fentanyl at the northern border to kill nearly 10 million Americans. That isn’t something anybody in Washington should ignore. It’s destroying lives and threatening our national security.
President Trump declared a national emergency at the northern border to stop the flow of fentanyl from Canada into the United States.
He’s right to force Canada to take responsibility and end this threat to the American people.
Last week, Democrats tried to end that declaration and tie President Trump’s hands as he works to prevent this poison from destroying communities across Indiana and the entire U.S.
They’re willing to turn a blind eye to fentanyl trafficking to make a political point. While Democrats work to block anything they can that helps America, President Trump is focused on making us safer.
I voted to keep the emergency declaration in place, backing the President’s efforts to combat the fentanyl crisis.
