Workers Over Billionaires Virtual Town Hall with Texas AFL-CIO, American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), Federal Workers, and Texas Members of Congress

I joined the Texas AFL-CIO this week for a press conference to talk to federal workers directly and call out Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s attacks on our federal workforce. The Trump Administration's funding cuts are dismantling the federal government. I will keep fighting for the federal workforce in Texas and across the country, and encourage everyone to keep standing up, speaking out, and sharing your stories.

Bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia Home

Legislative Updates

Postal Service Clusterbox Responsibility Act

This week, I introduced legislation that would ensure USPS continues to take responsibility for fixing and maintaining clusterboxes in eligible neighborhoods. USPS must fulfill its decades-long commitment to take care of this vital public service.

Letter Supporting the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)

I sent a letter to the White House to express concerns over the proposed elimination of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the devastating impact such cuts would have on communities throughout the country. We demand that the White House recognize the social and economic impacts the elimination of IMLS would cause to our community.

Library of Congress National Recording Registry Announcement

This week, the Library of Congress (LOC) announced that it is inducting three of the nominations you helped me submit for this year’s prestigious National Recording Registry. Vicente Fernández’s “El Rey,” Freddy Fender’s “Before the Next Teardrop Falls,” and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton” album were inducted to the growing small percentage of Latino musicians currently represented in the registry.

Thank you for helping me curate this year’s list that I submitted. I am pleased to see the LOC recognizing the influence, talent, and legacy of these talented Latino musicians.
