Dear John,

Recently, Donald Trump signed a partisan Republican government funding bill that will have a devastating impact on our community. The bill cuts over $17.5 million in direct federal investments I’ve worked to secure for the Inland Empire, which means less funding for affordable housing, public safety, water conservation and local cybersecurity jobs.

To make things worse, this spending bill does nothing to lower costs or make life better for hardworking families like yours. That’s why I voted NO.

Donald Trump and Republicans keep showing us that they do not care about our community and the families who live, work and pay taxes here. Donald Trump’s only priority is to cut funding for things like Social Security, Medi-Cal, veterans’ health care and investments in our community to pay for tax breaks for billionaires.

The Inland Empire has been shortchanged for decades, and I’ve worked hard to reverse this trend. I will never stop fighting to bring home more resources that help make the Inland Empire safer and more affordable.
