House Republicans showed us the depth of their cruelty yesterday morning:
They passed Trump’s budget plan that will cut nearly $880 billion from Medicaid and $230 billion from food assistance programs like SNAP.
In my district alone, hundreds of thousands of families depend on these programs for their life-saving healthcare and just to put food on the table.
From seniors to children to parents and everyone in between, there isn’t a group of people this won’t touch…
…except for corporations and billionaire donors in the pocket of Trump and his allies in Congress. They stand to gain significant tax breaks in exchange for stripping away these essential programs from millions of American families.
I’m outraged at the blatant disregard for the thousands in my community and beyond who already struggle to make ends meet. They deserve better.
I was proud to vote against this extreme budget plan, and I’ll continue to stand up and speak out against this constant Republican cruelty.
This brings into perspective just how important it is that Democrats win the House majority next year.
If you’re with me, $3 will go a long way toward holding this administration accountable.
