The reality is: Trump is the president. And while we can’t control the chaos coming out of Washington, we can control how we fight back.
We know who we are. We’re New Yorkers — we don’t flinch, and we sure as hell don’t fold under pressure.
Trump is already targeting our city: slashing funding, ramping up deportations, and threatening to punish anyone who doesn’t play by his fascist playbook.
But New York doesn’t take orders from fascists.
I’ve seen what happens when the system turns on immigrants and working people. That’s why I’m not showing up with a photo-op and a smile. I’m bringing a gun to a gunfight — policy, people power, and a plan.

This week, I introduced the RECOURSE Act with my colleagues in the Assembly. If Trump tries to withhold federal funds from New York, our bill would authorize the state to withhold our payments right back.
As mayor, I won’t waste time. I’ll double down on what actually keeps New York running — public housing, safe schools, good union jobs, and real sanctuary for our immigrant neighbors.
