John,
This week we took to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. and online to meet with members of the 119th Congress to fight for federal justice reform. This is what it looks like when we come together across communities and through our devices to build a future rooted in freedom, dignity, and opportunity for all.

All day on April 9, Dream.Org ambassadors and staff met with elected officials from all over the country to discuss our 2025 Public Health is Public Safety Lobby Day Platform, which included.
- Defending Medicaid to ensure healthcare access for millions
- Clearing people’s federal records to help them successfully reenter society
- Fighting for the healthcare rights of people in pretrial detention and other people incarcerated shortly before release
- Preventing housing discrimination for formerly incarcerated individuals
- Ending the disastrous War on Drugs
These moments of advocacy are why we launched our Public Health is Public Safety campaign in the first place, to encourage our lawmakers to pass drug policy that will focus on public health and treatment for those with substance use dependency, rather than punishment.
We must do everything in our power to include, invest in, and uplift the people most impacted by the harmful approaches to drugs in America.

Community care is the answer, not mass incarceration. We are building a movement. We hope you’ll join us. Please help us get the word out on the issues most important to you on social media.
In solidarity,
–Dream.Org
P.S. If you couldn’t join us for the 2025 Public Health is Public Safety Lobby Day but are ready to fight for justice, you can tell your representative to vote yes on the Reentry Act. The bill would authorize Medicaid coverage for incarcerated individuals during the 30-day period preceding their release and aims to address critical health challenges faced by individuals transitioning from incarceration to community life.

P.P.S. We need your support in garnering attention to defend Medicaid. Can you share this post with the social network of your choice?
I'm worried about what will happen if they cut Medicaid. These cuts would impact millions of struggling families across the country. Medicaid keeps us healthy & saves money in the long run. Can you join me in taking action to protect it? @dream.corps
