John, we wanted to follow up to make sure you had a chance to share the below graphic.
If you haven't had a chance to share yet, please take a moment now. Every share helps raise awareness about this preventable crisis.
The fact that Black women face 3x higher risk of dying during pregnancy is unacceptable, and spreading awareness is the first step toward systemic change.
If you’ve already shared the graphic, THANK YOU so much for being part of the solution.

Dear John,
Black Maternal Health Week starts this Friday, and we need your help to shine a light on the critical disparities facing Black mothers and infants in our communities.
The reality is sobering:
-
Black women in the U.S. are 3x more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women.
-
Black infants are more than twice as likely to die before their first birthday compared to white infants.
-
80% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable through recognizing warning signs, providing timely treatment, and delivering respectful, quality care.
It’s shocking and tragic that in 2025 when we can perform fetal surgery and map a baby's genome, these disparities still exist and claim too many lives.
The first critical step to change is awareness. That's why we're hoping you'll share our Instagram post with your network: |
When you share this graphic, you help more families learn about available support, put pressure on policymakers, and build community around life-saving solutions like our doula programs.
Start Early's Healthy Parents and Babies program directly address these preventable tragedies by ensuring Black mothers receive culturally competent care, early warning sign recognition, and timely interventions throughout pregnancy and beyond.
Thanks for spreading awareness and being part of the solution.

P.S. Help us reach our $5,000 fundraising goal for Black Maternal Health Week. Your gift will help Black mothers and their toddlers! |
