Hello from the State Capitol,
It’s been a busy and productive week as we wrap up committee hearings and prepare for the next phase of session.
One of the highlights this week was Veterans Day on the Hill—a powerful reminder of the service and sacrifice of the brave men and women who have defended our country. I was truly honored to speak at the event and stand alongside so many veterans. As a fellow soldier, I’m always reminded of the deep bond we share and the responsibility we carry to honor those who’ve served before us. God bless our veterans—today and every day.
In the Veterans Committee, we also made meaningful progress by securing critical funding for veteran suicide prevention efforts. This investment will help expand mental health services, improve access to care, and strengthen community outreach programs. These are life-saving resources, and they are urgently needed. No veteran should ever feel like they’re facing their struggles alone. Supporting our servicemembers after they return home is not just the right thing to do—it’s our responsibility.

As we head into legislative spring break next week, I want to thank you for the continued honor of serving you. I remain committed to working hard on your behalf and advocating for the issues that matter most to our communities.
Join myself, Rep. Marj Fogelman, and Sen. Rich Draheim for a town hall next Tuesday April 15th at 5 p.m. at the Fairmont American Legion.
