This week, over 150 union members, allies, and community leaders gathered at the Arizona State Capitol for our Arizona AFL-CIO Day of Action—a powerful day rooted in solidarity, economic and social justice, and the collective strength of a strong, inclusive labor movement.
We were proud to host two vital workshops: Common Sense Economics: Immigration and a timely presentation from the Arizona Heat Standards Coalition, reminding us what’s at stake and why our advocacy matters. We continue to push for policies at every level that protect working families—policies like affordable healthcare, strong social safety nets, and dignified workplace protections.
The extreme policies, executive orders, and rhetoric from this administration—both at home and abroad—stand in direct opposition to the core values we fight for every day as union members. But we remain undeterred. In fact, today made it clear: we are more committed than ever.
We were inspired by our keynote speaker, President Bryant Preston of the Colorado AFL-CIO and Secretary-Treasurer of IATSE District 5, who reminded us, "There's more power in a union hall than there is in a board room... The momentum is real. We have to keep it going. We have to push harder, stand taller, fight smarter."
We also heard from Justine Medina—a fierce Amazon worker, organizer, and leader with IBT Local 1—who played a historic role in organizing the first successful union election at Amazon in U.S. history. And we were honored to have Cecilia Valdez, Chair of the Pima Area Labor Federation, who continues to mentor and uplift so many of us in the labor movement.
A heartfelt thank you to our event sponsors: Bank of Labor, Ullico, American Income Life, Southwest Service Administrators, and Bright Now! Dental. Your support helps power this movement.
To all who showed up—thank you. To all who continue the fight—Solidarity Forever.

Take Action: Tell Lawmakers to Restore Federal Bargaining Rights Now
On March 27, the Trump administration took its most blatantly anti-worker, anti-union action yet: an executive order stripping the right to organize from hundreds of thousands of federal workers at more than 30 agencies. Now representatives in Congress have introduced the bipartisan Protect America’s Workforce Act, which would overturn Trump’s executive order.
We are asking every single American who cares about the fundamental freedom of all workers to join a union to call their member of Congress right now. Click the button below or dial 844-896-5059.

Arizona Needs Reliable Internet Service & Good Jobs
$42 billion in public funding for internet infrastructure is on the line, and we need your voice! While CWA members have fought for investments in reliable fiber broadband that create good, union jobs, satellite company CEOs are pushing to redirect these funds to unreliable satellite services. Satellite internet lacks the necessary speeds, employs fewer workers, and has a short lifespan that leads to repeated investments.
⤵️Click on the link below and tell Governor Hobbs and the Arizona State Broadband Office to stand up to pressure to redirect funds to unreliable satellite internet service and continue to create good, union jobs by investing in reliable, high-speed fiber internet. ⤵️
