Dear John,
We’re excited to announce the second meeting of The Union Book Club! This is a space for engaged readers to explore ideas that shape our democracy, communities, and the path forward. For our first meeting, we read White Rural Rage: The Threat to American Democracy, a timely investigation of the unique challenges facing rural communities, and the political implications of the growing urban-rural divide.
For our next meeting, we will be reading Democracy in Retrograde: How to Make Changes Big and Small in Our Country and in Our Lives by Sami Sage and Emily Amick. In this timely read, the authors explore ways that ordinary Americans can take action to safeguard democracy and keep from succumbing to despair.
