Hi John,
The Ways and Means Roadshow has been in full swing, with the final stops in La Grande, Salem, and Klamath Falls to name a few. If you aren’t already familiar with Ways and Means, it’s a committee consisting of a group of legislators tasked with making decisions about a government’s finances. Our volunteers and staff have been showing up at the roadshows across the state advocating for funding that protects our climate.
Next week on Wednesday, the Ways and Means Roadshow will hold its statewide virtual stop in Salem. This event will be virtual, so while you’re welcome to attend, remote testimony will be prioritized. For those who were not able to make it to your nearest roadshow, this is a great opportunity to add to the fight! Will you take a moment to submit testimony to ask our legislators to step up on climate for our environment and communities [[link removed]]?
WHEN: Wednesday, April 16 at 5:00 - 7:00 pm PT
WHERE: Microsoft Teams (RSVP or register in OLIS to get your link)
RSVP for the opportunity to testify verbally here: [link removed]
There’s a lot on the line for Oregon this year: from funding Oregon’s Natural Resource agencies, to heat pump programs, to an Ocean Resilience Package. With everything that’s happening at the federal level, it’s all hands on deck right now to ensure we don’t lose any of the progress we’ve already made. It’s time for us to make our communities more resilient.
More climate resilient communities start with proper funding for programs that will move us towards a healthy and safe climate for everyone. It only takes a second to submit your testimony using this form here, and that second will have lasting impacts on our state’s climate future. Please make your voice heard now [[link removed]]!
