Donald Trump is blowing up the economy, just because he feels like it.

First Trump imposed sweeping new tariffs on ALL imports — a move that every serious economist agreed would hike up prices, spark retaliation from our trading partners, and rattle the markets. When their predictions proved correct, Trump then eventually pulled back on SOME tariffs... but not all of them! 

There's no rhyme or reason to any of this. He’s playing games with your retirement account. Your grocery bill. Your future.

And my colleagues from across the aisle are sitting back and letting it happen. 

John, will you join me in calling on my Republican colleagues to take action NOW and STAND AGAINST these economy destroying games?

Needless to say, what’s happening right now is not a serious economic strategy. It’s an act of political vanity — and it’s already sending shockwaves through the markets. 

People are watching the value of their 401(k)s drop overnight. Retirees are worried they’ll have to go back to work. And working families are bracing for another round of price hikes they can’t afford.

Enough.

When I ran for Congress, I promised to fight for everyday Texans — I’m not going to back down against a president who thinks he can govern by temper tantrum.

I meant it then. I mean it now. And I need you with me.

Republicans must not sit back while their leader sabotages the economy and wipes out the savings of hard working Americans. Their silence is complicity - and it’s unacceptable.
