Dear John,

A lot happened in Washington this week that I want to tell you about. Keep scrolling for updates.

President Trump Signs My Bill

On Thursday, President Trump signed my bill to overturn the IRS DeFi Crypto Broker Rule, a key step to ensuring America is the world’s crypto leader. This is also the first-ever cryptocurrency legislation signed into law by a president, and I was proud to lead it through Congress.

Extending Critical Tax Cuts:

As the tax filing deadline approaches on April 15, I am working with my colleagues in Congress to extend the critical 2017 tax cuts that are set to expire at the end of this year. If Congress fails to extend these tax cuts, the average American tax filer could see a 22% tax increase next year. I do not want to see that happen to hardworking Ohio families.

The bottom line is this: Ohio families do not need a tax hike.

Legislative Update:

This week, the House passed the Budget Resolution bill, which unlocks the next step of the process to pass a reconciliation bill that extends tax cuts, enshrines border security into law, and unleashes American energy dominance. I look forward to working on the bill and getting it to the president’s desk.

This week, I also led the introduction of the bipartisan Religious Workforce Protection Act, legislation to allow religious workers already present in the U.S. on temporary R-1 status with pending EB-4 applications to stay in the U.S. while waiting for permanent residency. Deadline Soon: Congressional Art Competition:

I'm not sure if you heard, but I am inviting high school artists who reside in Ohio’s 15th Congressional District to participate in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition!

This annual nationwide contest showcases the creativity of young artists, and the winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for an entire year, plus they will also receive a trip to Washington, D.C. for the national celebration. As the Co-Chair of the Congressional Humanities Caucus, welcoming the next generation of artists to share their talents on Capitol Hill is personally important to me. The deadline to submit a piece is THIS MONDAY, April 14 at 5 pm.
