Legislative Update

Hello friends,

Today is our third and final committee deadline, which means that most of our committee work is wrapping up. In the next few weeks, we will be finalizing and passing our budget bills off the House floor. We only have a few short weeks of session before our May 19th adjournment date, so we are working diligently to get everything finished. Next week, we are off for Easter break so there is no official legislative business and I look forward to spending the week in district. Thank you for taking the time to read this week's updates and happy early Easter!

MAELC Grant for Blooming Prairie

I want to give a special shoutout to the Blooming Prairie High School agriculture department, taught by Abby Bohlen. They received a $7,000 grant for their
project entitled, “Small Engines Implementation.” This grant from the Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council (MAELC) will aid in purchasing equipment to implement a small engines course, providing hands-on learning opportunities at Blooming Prairie High School. Congratulations to all who worked to make this grant possible!

Meeting with Leaders from Liberia

I had a great meeting with Civicus and David, who are education leaders from Liberia. They came to talk to me about the work that they support to promote educational opportunities. It was great to meet David and Civicus and hear about their work!
