President Trump knows the art of the deal—and he proved it this week.
Despite the hysteria and media meltdowns, he stuck to his guns and slapped tariffs on countries that have dumped on us for decades. Just like clockwork, most of them came crawling back to the negotiating table, and in the end, Trump adjusted his plan and lowered the tariffs to 10 percent.
But here’s the kicker: In the same breath, he hit China with a whopping 125 percent tariff. About dadgum time if you ask me!
Tariffs are about short-term pain for long-term gain. Did the market dip? Sure. But under Biden, it dropped 600 points in a single day and nobody said a word!
When Trump steps up to defend American workers and businesses, suddenly everyone loses their marbles—prompting him to coin a new term: Panican.
The truth is, this was all much ado about nothing.
In the end, Trump’s plan will drive our economy forward. It’ll bring jobs and manufacturing back to American soil—because other countries know we’re done being taken advantage of. But folks don’t realize that yet because they’ve been sold out by career politicians for so long.
I’m not going to sugarcoat it: We’ve done a terrible job on this in Congress. As soon as the calls start coming in and the going gets tough, everyone caves.
But not me.
The people of East Tennessee didn’t elect me to play it safe—they sent me to Washington to stand up for them and fight for what’s right.
I stand with President Trump and his efforts to put our country back on the map as an economic powerhouse. Let’s stop panicking and start leading.
Don’t be a panican!
