World Parkinson’s Day isn’t just about Parkinson’s, it’s about people. People everywhere, just like you and me, living their lives in the face of a challenge that demands resilience and strength. No two people have the exact same journey with Parkinson’s, but one thing everyone with Parkinson’s deserves is support and the chance to live well.
This is what World Parkinson’s Day is about. Today, we raise our voices to ensure that people living with Parkinson’s do not stand alone. With community, support and connection, we can help people affected by Parkinson’s to thrive. This World Parkinson’s Day, we’re focused on the human stories behind each diagnosis.
Parkinson’s doesn’t discriminate, and can affect anyone regardless of their age, race or gender. We’re highlighting just a few of these unique journeys below, and encourage you to share yours as well. Click their image to read their stories.

| | | | When Andy was diagnosed in 2014, he was determined to keep cycling, sailing, and playing pickleball for as long as possible. Although he had to let some of these activities go, he’s found new ones as he became involved with the Parkinson’s community, serving as Chairman of the Board for the Parkinson’s Wellness Project in Victoria.
