Legislative Update
Friends,
As your representative for District 22B, I want you to know my work in St. Paul never stops. Whether I’m in the Capitol or back home in our district, I am fighting every day against waste, fraud, and abuse. I’m also standing up to state agencies when they push back against the voters I represent. I want to make it clear: The fight for transparency, accountability, and common sense is far from over – and I’m in it every step of the way.

In District
Right now, I’m working on three local issues in our District:
*Property Drainage Dispute*
I’m actively working with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR), and local county officials to resolve a dispute involving drainage on private property. We’re pushing for a fair and workable solution that respects the rights of landowners.
*Legislative Misinterpretation Impacting Local Business*
A local business in our area has been negatively impacted by a recent interpretation of legislative intent. In my view, this interpretation is wrong. I’m exploring legislation to correct the statute and ensure that state law reflects what was truly intended when it was passed.
*Parking Lot Expansion Blocked by State Bureaucracy*
Another local business is attempting to expand their parking area, but the State is currently standing in the way. I’ve been sending letters and making calls to state agencies to help clear the path forward. There’s still work to do, but we are making progress.

Statewide Safety
*Updating Distracted Driving Laws*
On a broader level, I’ve been asked by members of the Minnesota State Patrol to carry a bill that updates outdated distracted driving laws. Right now, Minnesota Statute 169.471 only mentions “television screens” being banned from a driver’s view. That doesn’t reflect today’s reality – people are watching shows or streaming content on their phones while driving, and the law needs to reflect that. My goal is not to ban all screens, but to make sure the statute is clear and effective in preventing dangerous distractions behind the wheel.

Continuing the Fight
As always, I’m here to represent your voice and your concerns at the Capitol. Thank you for the trust you place in me. Let’s keep pushing for common-sense solutions and accountability across our state. To best represent you, I need to hear from you. Please reach out to me at the contact information below!
