Team,
On Saturday, I asked you to step up in the fight by pledging to stand up for justice. And I am blown away by how many of you joined me in doing so. Thank you!
If you missed the pledge, you can sign on here!
I’m glad we’ve all taken this important first step in seeking justice for George Floyd, as well as the many others who have been abused, victimized, and senselessly killed by excessive force. But we have so much more to do to address these inequalities.
As I stated this past weekend at a rally on the steps of City Hall in the City of Gary, we are better together than we are divided. We must continue to develop more empathy for one another so that we can create more opportunities for everyone to have access to good-paying jobs and affordable healthcare.
Racial bias is woven into the fabric of so many day to day interactions. And while we work together to address these challenges, we must actively take the necessary steps to listen to one another and better understand the views of all individuals and families in our communities.
When I’m in Congress, I’ll work to listen to all the members of our community and promote justice and economic opportunities for all.
Can I count on you to join this movement by signing our pledge right now?
Thank you for all you do, and for standing with me in our pursuit of justice and equality.
