Dear John,
Selina Soule, a 16-year-old track and field athlete, positioned herself on the starting block. She had trained for this important moment at Connecticut's indoor track championships.
The goal was to run a strong race to the finish line. Selina had high hopes of running in the New England regional championships where she would have competed in front of college scouts.
But Selina was robbed of that chance when two biological males who identify as females were allowed to compete in her high school's event.
In 2017, the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) began allowing boys who claim a female identity to compete in girls' athletic competitions. This has permitted biological males--who have an obvious biological performance advantage--to compete against female athletes, destroying the girls' level playing field.
Placing eighth in the 55-meter dash event, Selina was outrun by five girls and those two boys, who placed first and second. Had the race been an all-female event, Selina would have qualified for the regional championship with a sixth-place finish.
Selina Soule has been sidelined in her athletic event, but she is only one of many athletes and students who are being impacted by the dangerous gender ideology invading our school systems.
Here at Family Research Council, we are equipping families and churches with the resources to take a stand against this radical transgender movement.

Selina Soule's story isn't over. She has refused to be a spectator at her own sport. She is bravely fighting back!
On June 17, 2019, Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) filed a Title IX discrimination complaint with the Department of Education on behalf of Selina and two other female athletes from Connecticut.
In a recent interview, ADF attorney Christiana Holcomb stated, "We know Title IX was designed to ensure that women were free of sex discrimination in education and, secondly, in athletics so that they could move to the next level, to compete for scholarships, and potentially even launch their own athletic careers. What the Athletic Association in Connecticut has done by allowing biological males to compete in Selina's female track tournaments is actually completely undermining and violating Title IX."
The irony is that this civil rights law, which was passed to create a fair playing field for female athletes, is being gutted by transgender activists' war on gender.
It is an attack on women's equal rights--an attack liberal media and many on the Left refuse to acknowledge.
FRC is on the front lines, working with activists, parents, and local school boards to inform school districts about these dangerous transgender policies. Our experts also actively work to publish educational resources and op-eds that counter the Left's narrative.
Your financial support helps us to continue advocating in Washington, D.C. and educating believers throughout the country to push back against this harmful ideology.

John, with over 13,600 public school districts in the United States, we must speak out as parents, grandparents, and church communities against a transgender agenda that is set directly against the biblical truth on gender and sexuality.
As believers in Christ, we are called to be compassionate to those experiencing gender dysphoria. Scripture guides us in how to respond with love and grace, reminding us in Psalm 139 that we are all image-bearers and "fearfully and wonderfully made."
But we must also educate ourselves so we can bravely stand up against the LGBT revolution that is marching through our nation's schools.
The safety of our kids and the future of our religious liberties are at stake!
This isn't just a transgender movement to gain accommodation for a few; it is a revolution meant to tear down our nation's Judeo-Christian foundation. If we don't stand firm, religious liberty along with all other freedoms will suffer.
Like Selina, we must not sit on the sidelines!
Thank you for your continued partnership to help us stand for truth--boldly and compassionately--on this issue!
