Hello Friend,
The United States – and the planet – are facing existential
challenges from accelerating climate change and the determination by
Donald Trump to establish a dictatorship to further enrich himself and
fellow oligarchs. The role of civil society and the rule of law are
rapidly being dismantled.

Time is running out to avoid
climate collapse. The United Nations says that the continuing failure
of the world’s governments to
enact radical climate action means we will pass the 1.5° C target to
limit global warming by the 2030’s.
The Greens are the one-party
demanding systemic change as a response to climate
change. We must replace
capitalism’s focus on
perpetual growth and maximization of profit with an economy and
political system based on the common good and sustainability. Humans
are driving the sixth mass extinction of species. We need radical
action to protect biodiversity and the Rights of Nature.
We hope you will join the EcoAction Committee of the Green
Party on Monday, April 14 at 8pm Eastern / 5pm Pacific to kick off our
annual Earth Day to May Day actions.

The Green Party in 2010
initiated the call for an ecosocialist Green New Deal, which combined
a call for a ten year conversion to zero greenhouse gas emissions and
100% clean renewable energy with a strong Economic Bill of Rights
(single payer health care, living wage jobs and guaranteed income for
all, housing, free college education) that centered on environmental
justice and a Just Transition, along with public
power.
The Greens are the only
major party standing up to the power and campaign donations
of the fossil fuel industry, having led the fight against fracking of
natural gas and the call to halt all new fossil fuel
infrastructure.
We will not solve the climate
crisis by giving more money to hedge funds to invest in renewable
energy and false climate solutions like carbon capture technology,
nuclear, blue hydrogen, and biomass. The Earth Day to May Day
theme highlights the interconnection between critical issues such as
climate change, environmental justice, worker and immigrant rights,
peace, anti-racism, and biodiversity.
April 10 is also the day we
celebrate the 4 Pillars and 10 Key Values. If you are able, please consider donating to the Green Party. Your
support helps us promote a Green agenda.
