** 1. NC VALUES: 5 More Pro-Values Bills Filed
------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks to your support, we’ve been in Raleigh, advancing key bills that uphold the pro-life, pro-family, and pro-freedom values you care about. We’re excited to share that we’ve now helped introduce five more pro-values bills in the NC General Assembly—bringing the total to nine bills this session!
Here’s a quick look at these newly filed bills that need your voice: the Ensuring Safety for Mail-Order Medications Act (HB 553); the Finding Grace Family Bill (HB 844); the Prevent Sexual Exploitation of Women and Minors Act (HB 805); the Promoting Wholesome Content for Students Act (HB 636); and the Civil Procedure Amendment (HB 606).
This is in addition to the other four bills we're working on: the Women’s Safety and Protection Act (HB 791/SB 516); the Parents Protection Act (HB 560/SB 442); Parents Medical Bill of Rights / Minors Health Protection Act (HB 519/SB 759); and the Newborn Safety Devices (HB 139/SB 91).
Together, these nine pro-values bills represent our most significant legislative agenda yet—and we need your help to get them passed.

** 3. NC VALUES OP-ED: NC Should Restore Parental Authority Over Medical Decisions
------------------------------------------------------------
In August 2021, a Yancey County woman became the legal guardian for her teenage niece when her sister unexpectedly died. The niece had some pre-existing mental-health problems that were complicated by her mother’s death. But overseeing her niece’s health care quickly became a problem because North Carolina law allows minors — without knowledge of parents and guardians — to consent for certain conditions.
The aunt was denied access to medical records, including drug-test results, and the niece consented to a birth-control implant on her own. In an email to NC Values Coalition, the aunt wrote, “The hospital refused to take care of her ingrown toenails because of the liability issues, but they had no problem putting in the birth control implant.” The aunt felt powerless to protect and care for her sister’s child in the way in which she felt best.

------------------------------------------------------------
"Wake County school leaders said Tuesday they'll keep gender identity in their anti-discrimination policies and transgender students can still use the school bathrooms of their choice.
The board made changes Tuesday to its anti-discrimination policies after a recent ruling striking down Title IX regulations from the Biden era."
These changes included dropping Biden-era Title IX regulations.

** 5. CAROLINA JOURNAL: NC House Bill Would Require Pornography Sites to Maintain Consent Forms
------------------------------------------------------------
"On Monday, state Rep. Neal Jackson, R-Moore, introduced House Bill 805, a bipartisan bill that would require websites distributing pornography to obtain consent from any individuals depicted in a video or image on the site.
'HB 805, the "Prevent the Sexual Exploitation of Women and Minors Act," provides an important safeguard against abuse,' Jackson told the Carolina Journal. “The law requires any website distributing pornography to keep consent forms on file for all participants in an image or video. This will ensure that participants are adults, have the capacity to consent, and are participating without coercion. The bill also provides an avenue for women who have been abused by this industry to remove nonconsensual content and pursue legal action against their abusers.”

** Weekly Prayer: Freedom
------------------------------------------------------------
LORD, you have blessed us with a spiritual liberty that is so wonderful and beyond description, that it can only be understood through experiencing a life-giving relationship with Christ. However, we also recognize that in your grace, you have blessed our country with a political liberty that enables us to openly proclaim the experience of a life lived in the freedom of the Gospel.
LORD, as individuals and as a nation, may we never take the inalienable right of religious freedom for granted. Right now our country has faced a rapid increase in the number of attacks made against this cherished right. We have seen groups across our public arena increase in boldness and frequency their smears against religious liberty. They claim it is bigotry, when we know it is the security of the greatest of all possible loves.
Be with your people and our country as it continues to protect the constitutional right protected by our nation’s Founders. Be with legislators and the Supreme Court, as they determine through their actions the protection of this particular and fundamental freedom.
“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)
“For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” (Galatians 5:13)
“Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God.” (1 Peter 2:16)
Amen
Sincerely,
Tami & Team
