** Deeply moving new video launched at Oireachtas event
------------------------------------------------------------

On Wednesday, the All Party Oireachtas Life and Dignity Group hosted an event attended by twenty members of the Oireachtas for colleagues in Buswells Hotel on the need for positive alternatives to abortion to be treated as a priority and to challenge the “all roads lead to abortion” policy that State funded bodies like the My Options ‘hotline’ appear to be pursuing at present.

A deeply impactful new video was played at the gathering featuring Ruth O’Sullivan from Cork and her abortion story. Ms O’Sullivan was present at the event and took part in a Q&A session after the video was played. She pleaded with Oireachtas members to work to ensure some balance is brought to the process so that women experiencing an unplanned or difficult pregnancy can access information in a timely manner so they don’t feel they are left with no other option than to get an abortion. Ms O’Sullivan talked about the devastating impact abortion has had on her life and how no one warned her beforehand that she might regret her decision.

** New PLC billboard campaign
------------------------------------------------------------

As part of our Positive Pathways Campaign, the Pro Life Campaign is in the process of rolling out a new billboard initiative across the country to draw public attention to the need for positive alternatives to abortion to be promoted to address Ireland’s spiralling abortion rate.

As a self-contained project, the Positive Pathways Campaign focuses on presenting accurate up to the minute information on how public policy in the area of unplanned pregnancy is operating and the urgent steps that need t be taken to bring to an end the situation where women feel fast tracked down the road of abortion only to subsequently regret the decision.

In recent weeks, the Pro Life Campaign has been meeting with members of the Oireachtas to inform them about the current state of play and to assist them in whatever way we can to help bring about change.

The billboard campaign is an additional element of the initiative to raise public awareness for this perfectly reasonable and critically important demand.

Countdown to the March for Life 2025 💙

📅 May 5th, 2025 (Bank Holiday Monday)

📍 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin

🕑 2pm

This year’s March for Life has an added importance with a new government in office. The significant increase in the number of pro-life TDs and Senators elected recently creates a big opportunity for the pro-life movement - one that we need to embrace wholeheartedly.

The hard work is paying off and starting to show results but we have to keep pushing forward.

Bank Holiday Monday (5th May) is our chance to unite with our pro-life Oireachtas members and send a very clear message to the Government that we expect to see urgent action taken to address Ireland’s skyrocketing abortion numbers. The appalling situation at present of women being kept in the dark about positive alternatives prior to an abortion, has to end.

It will only end however if enough pressure mounts. Change happens when people show up! On Bank Holiday Monday (5th May), we are counting on you to make an extra special effort to be present.

We can’t wait to see you there!

** Pro-life volunteer having ‘flashbacks’ after vicious attack in NYC
------------------------------------------------------------

**
------------------------------------------------------------

Pro-life supporter Savannah Craven Antao, who was sucker punched during an interview in New York City last week says she wants justice for what happened but also asked for prayers for the woman who attacked her, saying: “She is obviously going through something a lot deeper. I have no words.” The woman viciously attacked Craven Antao during the on-camera interview about Planned Parenthood.

Craven Antao, who works as a reporter for Live Action, was rushed to hospital after the attack. She is nursing a swollen black left eye, had two stitches below her eyebrow, and still has significant pain in her nasal area. In recent days, she said she’s struggling to come to terms with what happened and is having “flashbacks about what happened”.

There has been a massive upsurge in attacks on pro-life volunteers in recent years in the US, particularly since the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022.
