By the end of April, the Trump administration plans to strip legal protections from more than 500,000 immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela — ripping away their work permits and opening the door to deportation.

These immigrants were granted legal status under President Biden’s Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Venezuela (CHNV) Parole Program because it was simply not safe for them to return home. They fled violence, instability, and authoritarian regimes — people seeking safety, opportunity, and freedom.

But Trump is determined to take it all away.

His administration has already set its sights on ending Temporary Protected Status for over 1 million Venezuelans and Haitians, and there are reports they may soon target 200,000 Ukrainian refugees fleeing Putin’s invasion.

This is more than a policy decision — it’s cruelty and it's rooted in racism and xenophobia.
