Shontel Brown has introduced the Hunger Free Future Act, a bill to protect the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) from Republican plans to cut vital food assistance.
This bill, which has already been backed by over 50 Democrats in Congress, fights back against the House Republican budget resolution that was passed in February, which called for $230 billion in cuts to SNAP. This is just another example of MAGA Republicans working to gut critical programs in order to give away massive tax breaks to billionaires.
With this bill, Shontel is taking a stand against Republicans’ heartless efforts to gut food assistance so that their billionaire friends can buy another yacht.
