Rather than face their angry constituents, my Republican colleagues are straight-up refusing to hold town halls.

People are eager to engage with their elected officials. They deserve straight answers on Social Security, healthcare, food assistance, rising costs, and the state of our democracy.

So, folks, I'm stepping up to the plate! I’m kicking off the Tough Conversations Tour on Saturday, right here in Illinois.

I’m under no illusions about it: I’ll get some hard questions. There’ll be some tense moments. But I’m proud to take the first step towards healing some of these divides. Towards rebuilding all those bridges Trump has burned.
