I was just reading an article I thought you might find interesting.

It’s about the trend of Latino voters shifting towards Trump and directly mentions my race as one of the districts that saw one of the largest swings towards Republicans in the country.

I thought this was super interesting because it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a few years now. Latino voters swung heavily towards Trump in the past few cycles; however, here in my community, I’ve been able to continue to win their vote. This ticket splitting is vital in toss-up seats like mine.

However, if Democrats keep losing at the national level, I’m in deep trouble. The fact that I was named in this article is all the proof we need. The truth is, whichever party wins these ticket-splitters in the next election will have “a clear electoral advantage in the years ahead.”

My campaign has never taken Latino voters for granted. First off, we recognize that this isn’t a monolithic voting block. 42% of my district identifies as Hispanic or Latino; each family has a different story and different concerns.

That’s why my campaign takes Latino organizing so seriously. We can’t just talk to these families right before the election, so in the past we’ve hired Latino organizers as early as possible. We need year-round organizing to prove Democrats are actually doing something to help.

But we need the resources to make these same investments this cycle so we can continue building relationships and earning the support of every single voter.

So can I count on you to chip in now towards our Latino organizing program? Every dollar will help us do the work we need to keep this vulnerable seat blue!
