We need a government that makes life better for everyday people. But Republicans in Congress are trying to ram through a massive piece of legislation to cut clean energy, public lands, and essential government programs like Social Security and Medicare. 

Why? To pay for more tax breaks for their billionaire buddies and corporate polluters. 

We have a real shot at protecting these programs. They are extremely popular in blue, red, and purple states, and Republicans in Congress are divided -- some are even speaking out in support because of all the pressure they're getting from constituents and local businesses.

If you're looking for a way to level up your activism this Earth Month, we hope you'll join us.

During this action hour, we're going to write letters to the editor of local newspapers and call our members of Congress. We'll walk you through both actions step by step, provide sample messaging that you can adapt, and give you access to an online tool that lets you automatically submit letters to the newspapers closest to you. 

Since we began these action hours in January, we've accomplished some huge things! Together we:

📱 Made thousands of calls to Congress to protect climate action and clean energy 
🍃Shared hundreds of personalized social media posts to protect public lands
📨 Wrote hundreds of letters to the editor across the country

We've heard from so many of you that these Action Hours are a useful way to cut through all of the chaos and find the best ways to take action -- together.
