You know something is deeply wrong when corporate profits continue to soar but families can’t afford milk or eggs or cereal when they go to the grocery store.
The reason why is simple: corporate monopolies have successfully rigged the game in their favor.
In addition to raising prices, they’re also buying influence in Congress and the White House so they can write the laws and regulations that govern them.
That’s why my House colleagues Pat Ryan, Angie Craig, Chris Deluzio, and I just announced the creation of the Monopoly Busters Caucus to take on corporate power and build an economy that prioritizes working people.
If we really want to tackle this issue, we need Congress to act. Launching the Monopoly Busters Caucus is about preparing for just that. Even with Mike Johnson as Speaker, we can draft legislation, get our message out there, and work with the public to pressure Republicans into taking action.
And when we win back the House majority in 2026, we’ll be ready to pass new legislation as quickly as possible.
But John, we also need to recognize that the changes we want to see aren’t going to happen without a fight. Big corporate interests are lined up behind the billionaire-led Trump administration, and they’re going to do everything they can to keep the system rigged in their favor.
