Hey, Neighbor -
Today, I voted no on the so-called "property tax reduction bill" because while it promises relief, it delivers a raw deal for working Hoosiers. The bill claims to save taxpayers $466 million per year on property taxes, but it quietly opens the door for local governments to raise Local Income Taxes by over $3 billion annually. That’s not relief—that’s a shell game. It’s like putting a nickel in your right pocket and taking a dollar from your left. You all know that I support cutting the cost of living for you and your families, but this bill gives with one hand and takes a whole lot more with the other.
I believe you deserve real, honest tax relief—not this mirage. We need responsible solutions that reduce the burden on families without shifting the costs in a way that hits working people even harder. I'll keep fighting for policies that make your life more affordable and our community stronger, without resorting to gimmicks. You deserve better than a bait-and-switch.
