Ensuring Safety for Mail-Order Medications Act ([link removed])

(HB 553)

This bill strengthens North Carolina’s laws by making it a felony to illegally ship abortion pills into the state, holding out-of-state abortion pill distributors accountable, and creating civil remedies for those harmed. With an estimated 2,000 illegal shipments per month, this bill ensures only FDA-approved drugs are distributed, requires entities shipping abortion pills to register as NC businesses, and empowers women and families to pursue justice against dangerous, unlawful practices. Finding Grace Family Bill ([link removed])

This bill protects unborn babies from abortion after 6 weeks gestation (changing NC’s 12 weeks to 6). It also promotes adoption over abortion, ensures faster permanency for foster children, and seeks to end North Carolina’s status as an abortion destination. This legislation is vital to saving thousands of unborn lives and reversing the state’s trend as a leading destination for abortion in the Southeast. Prevent Sexual Exploitation of Women and Minors Act ([link removed])

(HB 805)

This bill targets pornography’s harmful exploitation of children and women. It requires an online pornography operator to verify that each individual appearing in the pornographic image was not less than 18 years of age when the image was created, has provided explicit written consent for each sexual act depicted, and has provided explicit written consent for the distribution of the specific pornographic image. Under the bill, the Attorney General is to create the consent form and enforce the law. It also provides for removal of pornographic images from the online entity upon request. Promoting Wholesome Content for Students Act ([link removed])

This bill protects students in public schools by requiring that school library books and materials meet set criteria, including supports and enriches the student’s personal learning, is appropriate for the age, grade level, intellectual development, and ability level of the students, and does not contain material that is harmful to minors (any material or performance that depicts or describes sexual activity or is pervasively vulgar). It ensures children are not exposed to sexually explicit content under the guise of education. Civil Procedure Amendment ([link removed])

(HB 606)

The Civil Procedure Amendment would extend the statute of limitations for medical malpractice while facilitating or perpetuating gender transition to 25 years after a minor turns 18 or 4 years after the discovery of the injury and the causal relationship between the injury and the treatment. The bill will ensure that those permanently harmed by medical gender transition—like Prisha Mosley—can hold the medical industry accountable. This common-sense bill defines “male,” “female,” “man,” “woman,” and “sex” by biology in North Carolina law and protects women and girls by ensuring that private spaces—such as restrooms, changing facilities, and sleeping quarters within a prison, local confinement facility, domestic violence center, rape crisis center, juvenile detention facility, or public school, remain single-sex. Parents Protection Act ([link removed])
(HB 560/SB 442)

This essential bill shields parents from losing custody of their children simply for raising their child consistent with their biological sex and refusing to affirm their child’s harmful gender identity. It reinforces a parent’s fundamental right to make medical decisions aligned with their beliefs and their child’s best interests. The bill also prohibits making prospective parents’ affirmation of gender identity a litmus test for adoption or foster care. Parents Medical Bill of Rights ([link removed]) / Minors Health Protection Act ([link removed])
(HB 519/SB 759)

This bill aims to restore parental authority in North Carolina by requiring parental consent for minors to receive diagnosis, treatment, or prevention for sexually transmitted diseases, substance abuse, and emotional disturbances, as well as prevention of pregnancy. The bills also require medical providers allow parents access to all medical records for their minor children. These bills follow the recent Happel v. Guilford County Board of Education NC Supreme Court decision affirming parents’ constitutional right to direct their children’s medical decisions. Newborn Safety Devices Act ([link removed])
