![]() Patriot, Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced it would engage in mass surveillance of non-citizens' social media posts, profile them based on their opinions, and if their opinions aren't to the government's satisfaction, deport them. Should you worry that you'll be profiled as well? No – because you can be certain you already are being profiled.
The government already gobbles up data on you and spies on everything you say and do online. No government should ever have the power to spy on you without a warrant. But in fact, every United States administration, Democrat and Republican alike, has been doing so for years. And that's why we must demand an end to warrantless searches and restoring the due process rights of Americans. ![]() Warrantless mass surveillance is nothing new. It goes back to the ECHELON project launched in the 1970s. But it's only been just these past few years with the power of AI that the government has been able to put this terrifying amount of your personal data to work. This is a simple question of whether the federal government can flagrantly violate the Constitution and spy on Americans without a warrant. Remember, the FBI abused the “Section 702 Database” under FISA to spy on Americans over THREE MILLION TIMES in just one year. They’ve concocted bogus investigations against politicians, against pro-life and anti-war activists, and even persecuted parents concerned about what’s going on in our schools. And as whistleblowers have testified, all of this came at the expense of investigating actual sex traffickers and terrorists. So even if you aren't worried because the newly-announced mass surveillance program only targets non-citizens, remember all surveillance comes at a cost. . . But you should also be concerned because every assault on civil rights weakens protections for everybody. Tell the U.S. House right now: Stop Section 702. End warrantless searches and restore due process rights of Americans. ![]() Last year, you and I came within ONE VOTE of getting critical reforms to FISA. Speaker Mike Johnson’s vote to kill the warrant requirement tipped the scales. With Mike Johnson still running the House, this will be a tough fight . . . but it is one we can win. The House Judiciary Committee is still determined to get the much-needed warrant requirement through. But they need to know the American people are DEMANDING these reforms. So please sign your NO WARRANTLESS SURVEILLANCE directive to Congress right away. And after you've signed, I hope you'll follow up with a generous contribution to help Campaign for Liberty see this battle through. Because we know the opposing side is going to mobilize, too. The Surveillance State will fight tool and nail – as we saw during recent confirmation hearings in the U.S. Senate. No President – Democrat or Republican – should have warrantless mass surveillance power over American citizens. With your support, we've driven this issue farther than it's ever gotten in Congress. This session, we may be able to get it over the finish line. But it will take everything we've got, and we are counting on your support. The surveillance state apologists are going to do whatever they can to reauthorize their spying program quickly and likely quietly. That’s why we must pull out all the stops using mail, email, Internet ads, and even targeted radio and TV ads if we can raise the resources. But we can’t do any of this without you. So won’t you please agree to your most generous gift of $200 right away? Patriot, I know that’s a lot. If it’s too much, please give $100 or at least $50. Like you, sometimes I feel like we’re watching the police state nightmare from George Orwell’s 1984 being built around us. So won’t you please join me in shouting DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER before it’s too late – before the idea of American liberty is nothing more than a distant memory? Please agree to your most generous gift of $200, $100, or at least $50 TODAY! For Liberty, ![]() John McCardell Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty P.S. Section 702 of FISA – which allows the massive collection and surveillance of innocent Americans’ emails, texts, phone calls, and online chats without a warrant – is set to expire soon. Even if you've sent our directives on this issue before, contact Congress right now to demand an end to warrantless mass surveillance. ![]() Last year, we came within one vote of getting a warrant requirement passed in the U.S. House.
