House Republicans just passed Donald Trump’s budget that will gut Medicaid from 152,483 of my neighbors in IL-17, including 66,000 children and 10,000 seniors, and strip health care away from millions more hard working American families, while giving huge new tax breaks to their billionaire donors.

HELL NO to this.

Whenever I’m moving through Central and Northwestern Illinois, I hear from dozens, if not hundreds, of constituents about the importance of protecting access to affordable, high quality health care. About how we need to expand access to health insurance, not gut it.

This is cruel and unusual punishment of everyday people, an abandonment of our communities, and a betrayal to working families everywhere who are already struggling with high costs.

I know the times feel desperate, but we cannot give in to despair. And I will not let up. I will keep fighting to deliver on the issues my neighbors care about the most. I am in Washington to get results for you, not to sell out and play footsie with a handful of tycoons. I hope you’ll join me in that fight.
