Hi John,

Amid global chaos in response to Trump’s tariffs, Israel has been ramping up its attacks on Gaza, killing indiscriminately and seizing more land. Last week, in another appalling attack, Israel killed 15 paramedics and rescue workers who had been on a mission to rescue colleagues who had been shot at. Days later, they were found in a mass grave, one of them with his hands tied behind his back.(1)

At the same time, Israel is attempting to censor any voice that dares stand up to it. On Saturday, two British MPs seeking to visit the West Bank were deported from Israel on chillingly authoritarian grounds, including the alleged intention to “document the activities” of Israel’s military or voice “anti-Israel” opinions.(2)

Israel clearly believes it can act with impunity. The only way that will change is if it faces real consequences for its actions. That’s why we’re demanding the UK works with other countries to place sanctions on Israel to target its war economy and help bring these atrocities to an end.

Will you write to the trade secretary and demand the UK places sanctions on Israel?
Yes, it’s time for sanctions on Israel
UK government ministers continue to insist that they have pulled every diplomatic lever available to influence Israel, but they have rejected calls for economic sanctions, even though they are one of the few significant sources of leverage the UK has over Israel.(3)

We’re calling for the UK to suspend its trade deal with Israel and scrap its shameful plans for a new, deeper trade agreement. It must also ban trade and investment with Israel’s illegal settlements and sanction any firms involved in the attacks on Gaza or the broader occupation of Palestinian land.

These should be uncontroversial measures: the minimum required to ensure a modicum of accountability for Israel’s genocidal actions. More MPs are now joining the call for sanctions and news reports suggest the UK government is considering new action in response to Israel's escalating violence.(4)

This is a vital moment to press for meaningful sanctions – and an overhaul of the UK’s trade relationship with Israel.

Will you join the demand for sanctions on Israel?
Write to the trade secretary and demand sanctions
The government’s failure to put pressure on Israel is facilitating the killing of Palestinians – we must push for a drastic change.

Thank you for everything you are doing.
