Dear Jack,

The Mississippi Center for Public Policy (MCPP) recognizes lawmakers who have helped advance the cause of liberty during the 2025 legislative session.

Rep. Owen’s Bold Stand for Education Reform

Rep Jansen Owen presented with the Mississippi Freedom Award
Representative Owen showed true heroism in his push to improve education across Mississippi. He championed HB 1435, a bill that would have introduced public-to-public school choice—an option already available in every neighboring state.  With strong support, HB 1435 sailed through the House, passing with a clear majority.  If the Senate had followed suit, Mississippi families would now enjoy the same educational opportunities as those in surrounding states.  We salute Rep. Owen for his leadership and unwavering commitment to this cause!

Rep. Hank Zuber – A Champion for Red Tape Reduction
Rep Hank Zuber III presented with the Mississippi Freedom Award
Representative Hank Zuber III stands out as a dedicated conservative, tirelessly working to dismantle the red tape that hampers Mississippi’s healthcare economy.  Over the past few years, he has delved deep into the effects of restrictive Certificate of Need laws, proposing how to reform the system.  If Rep. Zuber’s vision had prevailed, our state would be on track for a stronger, more accessible healthcare system.  Hank is a true freedom fighter, and we’re proud to recognize his heroic efforts!

Watch out for more announcements over the coming days!

The forces in favor of pro-growth policies are winning!  The forces of the status quo are in retreat!
