** It's past time bureaucrats in Sacramento were reined in.
------------------------------------------------------------
Daily Caller ([link removed]) (4/5/25) reports: "Senate Republicans are plowing ahead to terminate a Biden-era rule that effectively allows California to impose a national electric vehicle (EV) mandate. The Biden Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) signed off on California’s 'Advanced Clean Cars II' — which would ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles in the state and 11 others by 2035 — just weeks before the Trump administration took control in Washington. Republican West Virginia Sen. Shelley Moore Capito unveiled a resolution Friday afternoon to repeal that vehicle emissions rule despite an adverse ruling from a congressional watchdog and a nonpartisan Senate official arguing the EPA waiver was not subject to the Congressional Review Act (CRA)...Opponents of the California rules are optimistic Senate Republicans will ultimately achieve a full repeal of the de facto EV mandate, despite the uncertainty
over how GOP senators plan to move forward in light of the adverse ruling from the parliamentarian. 'Leadership in the House and Senate recognize that this is an important piece of President Trump’s commitment to restoring consumer choice in our ability to purchase automobiles that we want to purchase,' Tom Pyle, president of the Institute for Energy Research, told the DCNF. 'The pieces are in place, they’re aware of the deadlines, and I’m confident that they will deliver for President Trump and the American people.'"

** "Energy is essential to this age of American excellence. With development and innovation of all energy sources and the right policies in place, American Energy Dominance is inevitable."

============================================================

Sunsets are nice, but we've heard this story before. It's time to eliminate the IRA.

(4/10/25) reports: "North Dakota Republican Rep. Julie Fedorchak is introducing legislation Thursday that would completely exclude wind and solar from signature Inflation Reduction Act tax credits by the end of the decade. The 'Ending Intermittent Energy Subsidies Act' would phase out two production and investment credits, known as 45Y and 48E for their places in the tax code, over the course of five years for wind and solar energy generation while maintaining the incentives for other climate-friendly technologies like nuclear and geothermal. The legislation is one of the first bills developed this year designed to roll back a key component of the Democrats’ 2022 climate law, as Republican leaders consider repealing parts of the IRA through the budget reconciliation process."

When people tell you who they are, believe them.

(4/10/25) reports: "A group of Senate Republicans is urging their party leadership to keep the clean energy tax credits in Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, warning that repealing them would undermine President Donald Trump’s bid to stimulate manufacturing and could cause electricity prices to skyrocket. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), a vocal centrist, and Sen. John Curtis (R-Utah), a freshman who previously chaired the House Conservative Climate Caucus, led the letter that calls on Republican leadership to ensure the budget reconciliation talks taking place preserve the tax credits that benefit technologies from solar and wind power to geothermal and nuclear energy that were included in the Biden-era climate law. North Carolina's Thom Tillis and Kansas' Jerry Moran also signed the letter."

(4/5/25) reports: "The American Energy Alliance (AEA) has been keeping a tally of actions that Congress and current administrations have taken that impact the production of oil and gas in the U.S. The most recent list counts 50 actions that the Trump administration and Congressional Republicans have taken to unleash American energy since Jan. 20. The report starts with President Donald Trump signing 200 executive orders, including a declaration of a national energy emergency, an end to former President Joe Biden’s pause on liquified natural gas export permits, and an order to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris Agreement. The list also includes Congress passing the repeal of the Inflation Reduction Act’s methane fee and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin’s plan to review 31 regulations the Biden administration rolled out. 'In just over 60 days, President Trump and Congress have already taken over 50 actions to reverse the damage. It is a great relief to see positive
movement in the right direction, but there is much more to do. We look forward to rolling up our sleeves and helping to get the job done,' Tom Pyle, president of the AEA, said in a statement."
