Dear Friend, I know many of us are deeply concerned about the cruelty of policies and discourse and the erosion of democratic norms and institutions. I ask myself every day, and I'm guessing you do too, "What more can I do?" I am reaching out in the hope we have something that can help. We have joined a workshop series created by Georgetown University's Center on Faith and Justice to tackle this very issue. Tomorrow, Friday, April 11, I am joining a colleague from the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, for a session on breaking out of this paralysis and maintaining relationships in the process. Join us for this workshop from 4:00–5:30 p.m. (ET), where we will model tools for communicating despite potential conflicts and disagreements. We'll delve into the practice of holding conversations on challenging issues aimed at protecting our relationships and coalitions and of course, the value of justice that brings us to this work in the first place. At a moment of dire threats to our communities and democracy, I think this conversation can be helpful and hope you can join us.
