Dear John,

It’s no secret that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has long been under the microscope from all sides.

For over 60 years, USAID has been the federal government’s primary conduit for sending taxpayer dollars abroad to “end poverty” and “promote democracy.”

So why were they one of the first agencies scrutinized by the new administration?

Because they send obscene amounts of money overseas, which doesn’t reach the intended recipients, and they achieve poor results.

…especially compared to what the private sector can do…

Deroy Murdock is a friend of Atlas Network, a Fox News contributor, and a contributing editor with The American Spectator.

He just published a scathing critique of USAID, arguing that private organizations like Atlas Network do far more to end poverty and promote freedom worldwide, and with fewer dollars.

For example:

  • USAID spent $7.9 million to teach Sri Lankan journalists how to avoid “binary-gender language.”
  • On the other hand, Atlas Network granted $600,000 to Advocata Institute (Colombo, Sri Lanka), and they successfully advocated for nationwide, pro-market reforms, such as removing price controls and lowering tariffs.
Deroy also shares comparisons for Peru, Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina…

Read Deroy’s full op-ed and learn more about how Atlas Network delivers results faster, cheaper, and with greater impact than taxpayer aid.

All my best,

Kam
