Dear neighbors,
The actions we see being taken in Washington, D.C. on a near daily basis are alarming, disturbing, and dangerous.
Whether it’s undermining public education, imposing tariffs that drive up the cost of living and doing business, firing thousands of federal workers with no warning, or cutting Medicaid to give tax breaks to billionaires, the White House’s policies are hurting everyday Minnesotans. Every day, more and more people are standing up to Donald Trump and his billionaire friends, and fighting back to protect our families, schools, communities, and fundamental rights.
That’s why I’m pleased to announce a special town hall meeting in Minneapolis on Monday, April 21 at 7 p.m. to fight back together against the Trump administration’s harmful policies. To receive the event location, please register here.
Please note: this is a change from a previous announcement. The event on April 21st will be for the Minneapolis Delegation and Congressional District 5.
This event will feature a presentation about how the federal government’s actions are impacting the people of Minnesota, and most importantly, it’s an opportunity for people in our area to voice their fears, frustrations, and ideas. I’m eager to listen to what you have to say and work together to stand up for our shared values.
I’m also hosting a local District 61 town hall meeting on Wednesday, April 30th with my Minneapolis counterparts Rep. Jamie Long and Sen. Scott Dibble at United Methodist Church (511 Groveland Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55403) from 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Governor's State of the State: Be my Guest
Governor Tim Walz will deliver his annual State of the State Address to the Minnesota Legislature on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the State Capitol. This important address will outline the Governor's vision for Minnesota in the coming year and highlight key priorities for our state.
If you would like to be my guest at the State of the State Address, please send an email to [email protected] with:
- Your full name and contact information
- A brief message (100 words or less) explaining why you would like to attend the State of the State Address
I'll be reviewing all submissions and will select one community member to join me for this special occasion. Please submit your request by April 17th.
This is a chance to see our democracy at work firsthand and engage with the important issues facing our district and state. I look forward to hearing from you and potentially sharing this experience with one of you.
As always, my office remains committed to serving you. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns about state issues affecting our community.
I'm deeply grateful to each Minneapolis resident who has taken the time to write, call, or visit my office. Your thoughtful messages and passionate advocacy guide my work at the Capitol every day. While I receive hundreds of emails daily and may not always respond as quickly as I'd like, please know that my team and I read every message. I sincerely apologize for any delays in our communication, as we work diligently to balance responsive constituent services with legislative responsibilities.
Due to technological constraints, direct replies to this email will not reach my inbox. Please send me a message directly at [email protected] or give me a call at 651-296-9281.
Sincerely,
