I'm getting in touch to let you know that the NUI Certificate in Child Protection and Welfare 2025/2026 ([link removed]) , in partnership with the Department of Applied Social Studies at Maynooth University, is now open for applications!
When: September 2025 - May 2026
Deadline for application: Thursday 15th May 2025 at 12pm

This Certificate is designed for those in the youth work sector (and related sectors) with a professional interest in and responsibility for child safeguarding. It will be delivered over 100 contact hours involving online and in-person learning and will include input from child safeguarding specialists and support services.
Students can expect to:
* Gain an understanding of the key issues in safeguarding and child protection and welfare.
* Developed a critical awareness and understanding of the role and responsibilities of an organisation in relation to the implementation of its child safeguarding policy and procedures.
* Examined best practice in responses to safeguarding and child protection and welfare issues
