SHARK has been busy as ever! We have been keeping a close eye on steer tailing locations as we come into the season.

This weekend kicks off the start to the grueling and tiresome steer tailing season in Capron, IL on April 12.

Please reach out to the Illinois State Police and demand that they take action against these backyard steer tailing events! They break state law at each and every event. Since the local law enforement agencies do not want to step up and do their jobs, it is time the State Police step in and enfore STATE LAW. The Humane Care for Animals Act is State Law and must be enforced. Please send an email to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) . Remember to always be professional when emailing. Brendan Kelly is the Director of the Illinois State Police and needs to enforce the laws of his state.

We have also been hard at work to get Illinois SB45 through in Illinois. SB45 would “Amend the Humane Care for Animals Act. Provides that no person may intentionally drag or pull any bovine by its tail by any means for the purpose of entertainment, sport, practice, or contest."

Cockfighting has also had many wins this year! Illegal cockfights have been busted all over the country thanks to our tip line and our dedication.

Parker County, TX arrested 9 people and seized 96 roosters yesterday! ([link removed])

Hunt County, TX raided a cockfighting pit and arrested 21 individuals and seized 67 birds ([link removed])

Kentucky State Police charged 54 people in Casey County in January. ([link removed])

We are aware of several other locations that have been busted and arrests were made. After years of effort, we are finally starting to see the progress that is promising.
