Today’s lineup includes an armed father who stopped an active shooter, two new pro-2A bills advancing in North Carolina, and a quick look at why 9mm continues to dominate the self-defense world. We’ve also got another unfortunate case of negligent firearm storage, and a reminder that warning shots often create more problems than they solve.

I also just published Episode 15 of When Declaring a Firearm Goes (Almost) Perfectly. In this one, I was flying Spirit Airlines from Las Vegas to New Orleans with just a Pelican V100 Vault pistol case—not inside another bag. It was the ticket agent’s first time dealing with a standalone case, but after walking her through the process, it went smoothly. That said, my case still ended up on the regular luggage carousel instead of being held for ID pickup.
