A Message from Gabe:
Greetings Rhode Islanders,
April 15 is the official deadline to file your federal taxes. I want to remind everyone who has not yet filed their taxes to act by Tax Day. You can file your taxes with the IRS and the Rhode Island Department of Taxation or request an extension.
Filing Your Taxes: If you are prepared to file, you should review your documents thoroughly to ensure accuracy and completeness. Filing electronically is the quickest way to submit your returns and, if applicable, to receive your refund faster.
Free filing assistance is available for qualified taxpayers:
Helpful Filing Tips:
Requesting an Extension: If you need more time, you can request a filing extension through the IRS website or your tax preparation software. An extension can grant you until October 15 to file. Please remember that an extension to file is not an extension to pay any taxes owed. If you owe taxes, it is important to pay in a timely manner to avoid possible penalties and interest.
