JOE COURTNEY FOR CONGRESS
Hi John,

As the Trump/Musk administration repeatedly attacks the American people and the programs they rely on, Joe Courtney has been working hard for eastern Connecticut, demanding a stop to the administration's actions to dismantle our federal government and pilfer our nation's bedrock programs.

Check out the articles linked below to see how our Congressman is fighting for us!

“CT Democrats Seek Public Support to Stop GOP Medicaid Cut”
House Republicans have proposed a devastating $880 billion cut in Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for wealthy billionaires like Elon Musk.

Joe Courtney recently visited Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford to meet directly with some of our state’s most vulnerable young patients, and to hear from providers about how these proposed cuts would devastate their ability to provide care for sick children.

“Courtney Bashing Trump on a Regular Basis”
Joe Courtney hasn’t backed down from challenging the Trump/Musk administration’s war on working families.

He joined other Connecticut leaders at a recent press conference, stating, “President Trump and Elon Musk’s vindictive onslaught on thousands of federal workers who have been fired without cause is going to result in degraded services to the public.”

“Courtney Pushes Back Against Trump-Musk Policies, Advocates For Federal Workers And Connecticut Economy”
For eastern Connecticut, shipbuilding is an economic engine that drives our local economy while keeping our nation secure.

Now, thousands of jobs in our district are at risk because of Trump-Musk policies that are raising the prices of core materials for our maritime industrial base.

At the same time, deep cuts to federal departments are causing chaos throughout our communities. We can’t afford to back down in the fight against these terrible policies!

“People Over Profits: Connecticut Leaders, Advocates, And Medicaid Recipients Rally At State Capitol To Oppose Funding Cuts”

Congressman Joe Courtney recently joined other Connecticut leaders at the Capitol in Hartford to speak out against the awful Republican plan to devastate Medicaid in order to fund tax giveaways for billionaires.

He told the crowd, “What the House Republicans voted on at the end of February was a $5 trillion tax cut for the top one percent and corporations…they paid for it by cutting Medicaid by a trillion dollars, nutrition assistance by $300 billion, and student loan assistance by $300 billion.”

“Connecticut’s Congressional Delegation is Flexing its Muscles, but Many Constituents Want More”
Congressman Joe Courtney told a reporter that he has not seen such an intense reaction from Connecticut voters since at least 2009.

Folks are understandably frustrated and feel that their concerns are being ignored by this administration — which makes the work Joe is doing in the House all the more important.

“Face the Facts: CT Congressman Breaks Down Concerns about DOGE”
Joe sat down with local NBC anchor Mike Hydeck to discuss Elon Musk’s alarming access to sensitive taxpayer information, and how the DOGE department is doing unfathomable damage to funding for jobs and research in eastern Connecticut.

“Courtney concerned about impact of Australian tariff proposal on sub deal”
Trump’s tariffs have thrown the financial markets into chaos, as businesses large and small dread what comes next. Here in eastern Connecticut, our local maritime industrial base is facing an uncertain future as Trump threatens the same allies who are purchasing our advanced nuclear submarines.

Joe stated, “By all the measurements that President Trump talks about trade issues that we're being ripped off by other countries, in this case, every one of those arguments fails.”

“UCFS wary about possible loss of $4 million in grants: What U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney said”

Joe Courtney recently met with United Community and Family Services Healthcare employees and board members to discuss how the Trump administration is attempting to exert control over “the power of the purse”, and the implications for federal funding freezes in our district.
We’ll be sure to share future developments as Joe Courtney continues to fight for eastern Connecticut and our communities.

Thanks for standing with us for a brighter future!

All the best,

Team Courtney
