TX04 Art Competition - Deadline Soon! Dear john, Calling all high school artists! Each Spring, Congress participates in the Congressional Art Competition, which invites all students grades 9-12 to participate. For 40 years, the nationwide high school art competition has been sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives with participation by hundreds of thousands of highly talented high school students from all over the United States. I would like to encourage and recognize artistic talent in Texas' Fourth Congressional District and will select one winning piece to be proudly displayed in the United States Capitol for a year, with 4 runner up pieces to be placed in our offices. Artwork entered in the contest must be no larger than 26 inches wide by 26 inches tall by 4 inches thick, and weigh less than 15 pounds (including the frame). All entries must be original works. Winning students will be responsible for framing their own pieces.  The deadline to submit entries to my offices is 5pm on April 17th. The winner and runner ups will be notified before May 1st. Each applicant should submit their art for consideration via email to [email protected] with their high school art teacher CCed on the submission email. Each student is allowed to submit up to 2 pieces of original artwork, with separate submission forms for each.
