Friend — With Trump’s presidency now more than two months underway, we want to check in with our supporters and gauge your priorities.
The first two months with Trump in office have been even more chaotic than we expected.
First, Trump let Elon Musk — an unelected billionaire — make illegal cuts to the federal budget, fire thousands of crucial federal workers, and shut down entire agencies that serve people in need.
Then Trump worked with Republicans in Congress to push through a budget that gives more power to his White House and lays the groundwork for cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security.
Now, Trump is unleashing havoc on our economy with reckless tariffs that will raise the cost of goods for regular folks and have sent the stock market spiraling.
And that’s not to mention the continued attacks on our democracy and undermining of the Constitution — ignoring federal court orders, disappearing college protesters, and deporting migrants to a foreign super prison without due process, to name a few.
We’re going to have to work together, as a movement, to fight back and lay the groundwork for a progressive political comeback. And in order to do that, we need to know where our grassroots supporters stand and what we can do together in the coming days and months.
