Hi friend --

“‘Is that your Bible?’ a reporter asked. ‘It’s a Bible,’ Mr. Trump replied.”

That’s the exchange The New York Times reports Trump had with a member of the press during his photo-op outside St. John’s Episcopal Church last Monday.

Some might consider Trump’s answer rather telling, and his decision to gas protestors just to take the photo even more so -- but St. John’s bishop went a step further, calling Trump’s entire photo-op a “charade.”

CNN sheds more light on the president’s sudden interest in faith -- reporting that Trump “has fixated in his standing with evangelicals throughout his presidency, and has been worried by recent polls showing a slide in confidence related to his handling of coronavirus.”

So that’s the reason for Trump’s sudden piety -- slipping poll numbers. America is, of course, a nation of many religions and creeds -- but we all know a hypocrite when we see one. Tell us:
