During this volatile time in our country, people are wondering what can we do to fight back? In Illinois, 350 Chicago is pushing back against the fossil fuel industry. Everyday we work for climate solutions in Illinois.

We’re about one week into our Earth Month fundraiser to support our critical initiatives, and we are far from meeting our goal. Can you help us fight the climate crisis in Illinois with a gift today? Help support our efforts!

To fight back, 350 Chicago has formed the Climate Safe Pensions Illinois (CSPI) Coalition with our partners Third Act Illinois and Climate Reality Project Chicago to fight for fossil fuel divestment in Illinois. Passage of the Fossil Fuel Divestment Act would protect pensioners from losses as Illinois transitions to clean energy while denying fossil fuel companies funding for their climate destroying business practices. Our campaign has,

• Gained the endorsement of 29 climate, labor and faith groups over the last 4 months  
  

• Collected over 2000 signatures on postcards in support of divestment

• Delivered those postcards to legislators in the Illinois General Assembly to support the Fossil Fuel Divestment Act

• Met with over 40 public officials to discuss the financial case for divestment
