Black Maternal Health Week starts this Friday, and we need your help to shine a light on the critical disparities facing Black mothers and infants in our communities.
The reality is sobering:
-
Black women in the U.S. are 3x more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women.
-
Black infants are more than twice as likely to die before their first birthday compared to white infants.
- 80% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable through recognizing warning signs, providing timely treatment, and delivering respectful, quality care.It’s shocking and tragic that in 2025 when we can perform fetal surgery and map a baby's genome, these disparities still exist and claim too many lives.
